Procurement
Procurement is the acquisition of goods and/or services at the best possible total cost of ownership, in the right quantity and quality, at the right time, in the right place and from the right source for the direct benefit or use of corporations, or individuals, generally via a contract. Simple procurement may involve nothing more than repeat purchasing. Complex procurement could involve finding long term partners that might fundamentally commit one organization to another. This 40-hour module covers Purchasing Awareness & Capabilities, Procurement Planning, Communication & Negotiation, Fundamentals of Contract Law, Supply-Chain Management Best Practices (ISO 9001), E-Procurement, Procurement Risks, etc.

Cost Estimation of Projects
This involves the approximation of the probable total cost of a project, computed on the basis of available information. The 40-hour module covers the four common types of cost estimates: (1) Planning estimate: rough approximation of cost within a reasonable range of values, prepared for information purposes only. Also called ball park estimate. (2) Budget estimate: approximation based on well defined (but preliminary) cost data and established ground rules. (3) Firm estimate: based on cost data sound enough for entering into a binding contract. (4) Not-to-exceed /Not-less-than estimate: maximum or minimum amount required to accomplish a given task, based on firm cost estimate. The module is intended for anyone preparing, analyzing, auditing or approving estimates. It also introduces the Earned Value Analysis technique.

Primavera Cost Manager Course CM100
It can be nearly impossible to build annual budgets that consider forecasted project and program work plans along with detailed cost data. Even more challenging is attempting to reconcile actual program costs with actual schedule performance. Only P6 Cost Manager integrates detailed cost information with the program schedule in a single solution. P6 Cost Manager combines project performance data from cost systems (like ERPs or account systems) and Primavera schedule data, adds complex burdening rates, and tracks committed costs. Cost Manager enables you to achieve unparalleled insight by evaluating cost against schedule performance. Earned Value and Estimate at Completion techniques are demonstrated.

Project Risk Management with Pertmaster Course 501
Project risks as defined from a Project Management Institute (PMI) perspective are, at their core, unknown events. These events can be positive or negative, so that the word "risk" is inherently neutral. That said, most of the time and focus is spent handling negative project risks, or "threats," rather than positive project risks, or "opportunities." Some experts have said that a strong risk management process can decrease problems on a project by as much as 80 or 90 percent. In combination with solid project management practices, having a well-defined scope, incorporating input from the appropriate stakeholders, following a good change management process, and keeping open the lines of communication, a good risk management process is critical in cutting down on surprises, or unexpected project risks. Such a process can also help with problem resolution when changes occur, because now those changes are anticipated and actions have already been reviewed and approved, avoiding knee jerk reactions.
Pertmaster is a risk analysis and mitigation solution that enables organizations to overcome project and portfolio uncertainty by modeling risks and analyzing the cost and schedule impacts of mitigation scenarios.
Primavera Pertmaster helps you determine confidence levels for project success, while easily identifying contingency and risk response plans. For example, you can:
• Quickly evaluate your schedule maturity and risk readiness
• Perform risk analysis on escalating prices for raw materials, labor services, financing capital intensive projects, effects of proposed regulatory changes, and upgrades in new technology
• Plan for the occurrence of unforeseeable obstacles created by events such as weather, accidents, vendor delays and political or community challenges
• Determine which project is more likely to succeed, ROI, associated costs, and timeframe for a more realistic completion date
